Method optimization: The ethephon analysis method

Primoris is constantly looking into optimization of existing methods, with the purpose to increase robustness and reliability of our analyses results.

Ethephon analysis Method: ETH_01_A

What is it?

Ethephon is the most widely used plant growth regulator.

How does it work (mode of action)?

Ethephon penetrates into the plant tissues and is decomposed to ethylene, which affects the growth processes.

It is used to:

- Increase the resistance against lodging of cereal crops
- Synchronize and accelerate the ripening of greenhouse tomatoes
- Accelerate and harmonize the post-harvest ripening
- Increase flower bud development
- …
